Information We Collect

Data Collected Automatically

When you visit ToolGrit, our web server automatically logs standard request data. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, referring URL, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is collected by the hosting server and is used to monitor site health, identify errors, and understand general traffic patterns.

Calculator Data

All ToolGrit calculators run entirely in your browser. No calculation inputs, results, or saved states are sent to our servers. Your calculation data stays on your device. If you use the auto-save or shareable URL features, that data is stored in your browser's local storage or encoded in the URL itself. We never receive it.

Contact Form

If you use the contact form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, and message. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to marketing lists.

Third-Party Services

The following third-party services are embedded on or used by this site. Each service may collect data independently according to its own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics: Collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, session duration, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location. IP addresses are anonymized before processing. Used to understand site traffic and improve content.
• Cloudflare: Provides security and performance services. May collect IP addresses, request headers, and connection metadata for threat detection and content delivery optimization.
• Stripe: Processes payments for Pro features. Stripe collects payment card information directly. ToolGrit does not store or have access to your full card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: Used on the contact form to prevent spam. May collect browser metadata for bot detection.
• Affiliate networks: Pages that contain affiliate links may set cookies from affiliate networks (such as Amazon Associates, ShareASale, or CJ Affiliate) when you click those links. How We Use Information

We use the data described above for the following purposes:

Analytics cookies: Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track sessions. These cookies are named _ga and _gid. IP addresses are anonymized before processing.

Affiliate cookies: When you click an affiliate link, the affiliate network (Amazon, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, or similar) may set a cookie on your browser. This cookie tracks the referral so the network can attribute any resulting purchase. These cookies are set by the third party, not by ToolGrit.

Disabling cookies: You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you disable first-party cookies, your theme preference will not persist between visits. If you disable third-party cookies, affiliate tracking and analytics will not function. The calculators themselves will continue to work normally.

Affiliate Disclosure

ToolGrit participates in affiliate advertising programs, including Amazon Associates and other affiliate networks. Some pages on this site contain affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, ToolGrit may earn a small commission from the retailer. This does not affect the price you pay. Third-Party Links

Data Retention

Server logs are retained for a limited period for operational and security purposes, then deleted. Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to address your inquiry. Third-party services (Google Analytics, Cloudflare, Stripe, affiliate networks) manage their own data retention according to their respective policies. ToolGrit does not maintain a separate database of user information.

Your Rights

You have the right to know what data is collected about you when you visit this site. This policy describes that data. You may also:
